Terrill Manufacturings Riley Retires

San Angelo, Mar. 25, 2015 Terrill Manufacturing Co. today announced that Weldon Riley, the Vice President of Sales and Senior Estimator will retire at the end of March. After more than four decades of extraordinary leadership and service at the architectural woodwork and custom commercial casework manufacturer, Riley has decided to retire.

On April 7, 1971 Riley began his tenure at Terrill Manufacturing Co. in the plant as a part of the Assembly Department. After 1.5 years, he moved out of the plant and into the office as a member of the detailing team for two years. Senior officers noticed Rileys drive and attention to detail and, as a result, moved Weldon to the Estimating Department where he settled for almost 23 years. In 1997, Weldon was promoted to Vice President of Sales where he thrived, and the department reaped the benefits of his guidance, leadership, and innumerable contributions.

From 1997 to 2003, Weldon served on the board of Texas Chapter of the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) holding the positions of President, Vice President, and Treasurer. Weldon also sat as a development council representative from 2004 through 2010. At the national level, he has served the AWI as its Development Councils Vice Chairman from 2006 to 2007 and Chairman from 2007 to 2008. Additionally, Weldon served on the Boards of Directors of AWI in 2009 and 2010, the Bylaws and Policies Committee Chairman in 2010 and 2011, and the Cook Book Review Committee in 2004 and 2005.

I have enjoyed working here, and enjoyed the family aspect of it. I am the last person or one of the last people to have worked with all three generations of the Terrill family. Riley is looking forward to spending more time with his family especially supporting and playing with his two grandchildren, and exploring other interests including hunting, fishing and gardening.

Weldon Rileys decision to retire will bring to a close a remarkable career and partnership with Terrill Manufacturing Co. Riley leaves Terrill with the memory of his exceptional leadership skills, accomplishments and commitment to the company.
